Worldwide Reptile Super Survey Report
Today, keeping reptiles and amphibians is a mainstream pet choice:
In the UK, there are around 8.8 million reptiles being kept.
In Germany, there are approximately 1.2 million terrariums.
And in the USA, reptile keeping grew from 4.5 million households in 2020 to 6 million households in 2025.
Nevertheless, finding reliable reptile-keeping data has been difficult or impossible. That changed with the launch of the Worldwide Reptile Super Survey, now the largest international reptile-keeping dataset.
The 2025 survey generated 7,650 responses from 74 countries, documenting 140,566 animals across 1,366 species.
The data and evidence from the Worldwide Reptile Super Survey enable keepers, businesses, media outlets, and policymakers to make informed judgments.
