Subtropical forest and grassland habitat

These regions, such as the forested areas of Mexico or Costa Rica, enjoy ample tree cover with insulating foliage, along with sporadic areas of open grassland. There are river networks and plenty of cloud cover which helps limit the drop in night time temperatures. Many of these habitats are sheltered by mountain networks on one side which traps incoming weather fronts forcing clouds to dump their rainfall into the region. Temperatures are pleasant throughout the year, although winter temperatures will be cooler than those found in truly tropical forests.
